I am officially getting better
I will be released to go back to work on July 21st.

I never wrote here that I came home on Oxygen. It kept me focused on the anti inflammatory foods. My goal was to get off of oxygen.

The Dr in the hospital initially talked about having to do a tracheotomy. (Michele said at the time, "They don t know how strong you are.")

I told my younger brother at the time, "I have been put on oxygen."

He said, "You'll deal with it."

Well, today I was taken off of oxygen. I visited the lung specialist. And a week after being released he said that the x rays show that my lungs are almost cleared up. He took me off of all meds for respitory issues which included prednisone (a steroid that is an anti inflammatory but it can really be hard on the body)

I said to the Dr. this morning, "Will I ever be able to walk in a pool again?"

He said, "Why wouldn t you?"

I pointed at the oxygen tank I had to roll in with me to say, "Because of that."

I continued to say, "I go to Harbor Athletic Club to walk in the pool" It's been my greatest fear not being able to go back to the pool to walk.

So they did the tests and I am free to breathe on my own.

I came home to e mail my friend and she had written:

I AM THINKING OF YOU. IT IS 7:45 AM AND YOUR APP. IS AT 8. I AM SENDING VERY GOOD VIBES TO YOU AND HAVE GOOD PEACEFUL THOUGHTS THIS AM. YOUR BUD FOR LIFE, M

-------------------
She's the one that taught me about diet and healing. She's put herself in remission with an inflammation issue by using anti inflammatory foods.

I just did what I have learned from her and i will continue to live that way. I am so grateful.

My blood pressure is good. My good cholesterol according to another Dr there is "abnormally high"

So off i go to keep doing what i have been doing to heal.

After the appointments Mom was hungry i just wanted to go home but it was ok until we were in McDonald's and I was saying that they want me to see a dietician and i said, "I know we can learn anything from anybody but dieticians are often way behind and i am going to just keep doing what i am doing."

My mom challenged me to say, "Don t be so Doyle-ly" (prounounced Doy-lee) and her meaning was that Doyle's are stubborn.

I said, "I think i will become more Doylee in this; I took control of my eating in the hospital when they started talking about a temporary insulin med" I got cinnamon from the cafeteria (and it is a great hospital and user friendly so i could do it) but there was no insulin problem after i did that.

I am so happy and grateful and I think the focused anti inflammatory food made the healing faster with the antibiotics.

At one point I told mom about the chicken sandwich we are eating, "this food is so processed."

She said, "Well I am going to be 82 next year and if i lived this long I can eat processed food if i want."

Then, she paused to add, "There is nothing worse than a reformer."

I laughed. (Yeah you all think i am fixated on the Mayor of Hilldale, nope I am fixated on anti inflammatory food) I eat a bowl of homemade oatmeal with flax seed, cinnamon, honey and a fruit and it will make me feel calm and full for 4 hours. (you see dieticians will be supporting sugar substitutes but they actually make me crave processed food; i haven t given up all diet soda but major cut down)

So Mom and i had to wait for my meds at Walgreens so we went to Aldi's. To get a cart you have to put a quarter in and she handed me a quarter to say, "Here put in that republican quarter to get a cart."

I looked to see that it was a quarter from UTAH.

I said, "oh, Utah."

She said, "Yeah he thinks people don t need health care. People that have it don t think others need it."

I told mom that Chuck Grassley told an audience member who said that he wanted the same health insurance as the senator to work for John Deere.

She still drives around with her Russ Feingold bumper sticker on her back dash.

We got home in the midst of writing this Mom told me that my younger brother wanted to talk to me.

I said, "I am off all respiratory meds."

He said, "I told you you were getting better"

I said, "I am even off the oxygen."

He said, "Oh, you are off of that?"

I said, "Thank you for all the food you bought."

He said, I didn t buy that much.

But he did. He bought red grapes, apples, bananas and a huge bag of walnuts. I needed them at the time.

He said, "Call if you need anything."

I said, "Well thanks but I won t be needing anything."

This is the brother that explained my mortgage to me last month. I didn t get that i Onlly have to pay a small amount for the mortgage that i could double pay at times once i paid the insurance and tax expenses; I just didn t get it and he said it in one sentence, "Oh so your actual mortgage is 180.00 a month."

I don t have that kind of a brain and no banker explained it so simply either. I thought, "oh, once i get on my feet again i can pay my place off in 7 years."

Onward !
